Babies don’t need oral care???

Posted .

The reality or oral care for babies is this:  Home oral care should start as soon as possible.  Even before a baby’s teeth have come through, start cleaning gums with a soft baby toothbrush or a cloth and water.  As soon as the first teeth make an appearance, clean teeth and gums gently with a small, soft toothbrush.  No toothpaste.

Children’s first offical visit to the dental office should be around the age of three.  Of course if there is a problem you need to call.  If never hurts to schedule a “chair ride” for your little one earlier than age three to help them become comfortable with the facility and team members.
