Douglas A. Wheelock, DDS
Born and raised in Sioux City, Dr. Douglas Wheelock graduated from Sioux City Central High School in 1969. He then received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Briar Cliff College in 1973. He attended dental school at the University of Iowa and earned his Doctor of Dental Science degree in 1976 (and became a devoted Hawkeye fan in the process). After graduation from dental school, Dr. Wheelock returned to Sioux City. He began supervising the construction of his first dental office at 3901 Transit Avenue, working for Dr. Jerry Smith in South Sioux City, NE, until its completion in February 1977. In 1996, Dr. Wheelock moved his practice to its current location. He is a proud member of the Iowa Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Wheelock has created a highly successful practice focusing on the dental needs and desires of their patients. They have continued to grow with countless hours of continuing education to ensure that each patient receives the best possible care. They have also invested in their practice with cutting-edge technology such as CEREC and lasers. Dr. Jaicee Post joined our team of skilled doctors as well in 2016.
In addition to his commitment to providing excellent dentistry, Dr. Wheelock is also dedicated to being involved in his community. He is active in his church, Third Presbyterian, where he serves on several committees. Dr. Wheelock earned his Eagle Scout Award as a youth and has served as an adult scouter in many capacities, including Webelos leader and Scoutmaster.
Dr. Wheelock is married to his college sweetheart, Marilyn, and has three adult sons and three daughters-in-law. He is also the proud grandfather of five incredible grandchildren. When not working, Dr. Wheelock enjoys hunting with his two German Shorthaired Pointers, Sadie and Delle. He is a passionate fisherman who never passes up an opportunity for “one last cast.” Dr. Wheelock received his private flying license in 2004 and is qualified to fly a Cessna on wheels or floats.

Jaicee A. Post, DDS
Dr. Jaicee Post grew up on a farm in western Nebraska. There, she graduated high school in 2008 and then moved to Kearney, Nebraska, where she received her bachelor’s degree in biology in 2012. Dr. Post graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 2016, after which she joined Dr. Wheelock in their thriving practice.
Dr. Post is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, and the Iowa Dental Association. She recently became certified in Invisalign®, is participating in a mini-implant residency, and has been working with CEREC technology. Dr. Post plans to gain new skills through continuing education so she can provide more services to her patients.
In her spare time, Dr. Post enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, fishing, camping, and gardening. She plays a bit of piano and is attempting to learn the violin. She is a member of the Sioux City Growth Organization, and she attends the Sunnybrook Community Church. She has participated in several community service opportunities, both dental-related and not, and she will continue to do so. She loves being part of the Sioux City community, and she is happy for the chance to serve its community members. Go Huskers!
Ryan Baller, DDS
Raised in Sioux City, Dr. Ryan Baller grew up in the Northside area. He is a graduate of North High School and Briar Cliff University. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 2009. After graduation, Dr. Baller practiced dentistry for 8 years at the Siouxland Community Health Center, finishing his career there as Co-Dental Director.
Dr. Baller is a member of the American Dental Association, Iowa Dental Association, and the Sioux City Dental Society. He has also participated in the Iowa Mission of Mercy.
In February 2017, Dr. Baller became a fulltime associate at Wheelock & Associates Dentistry. He is dedicated to the dental profession, and takes every opportunity to further his knowledge and skill with continuing education. His latest training has included Invisalign as well as participating in a mini-residency program in Implantology. Dr. Baller is thrilled to continue to provide outstanding comprehensive care in Sioux City, IA.
When not in the office, Dr. Baller is very busy with his family and all of their activities. His wife Gretchen is a pastor of their local congregation, President of the Mariners Swim Club , Vice President of the North High Band Parents Association, and board member of the Sioux City Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Together they have 4 children: Emma (UNL student, lifeguard, singer, dancer), Seneca (avid equestrian, photographer and kickboxer), Brecken (swimmer, track and baritone sax player) and Daxton (Tae-Kwon-Do enthusiast and soccer player).

Marilyn, Office Manager
Marilyn is our esteemed office manager. She has been with the company for 35 years. She received her undergraduate degree from Briar Cliff and went on to graduate school at the University of Iowa. She is a licensed master social worker. Marilyn believes that the people working in the dental industry and the new, dramatic changes in dentistry are the most important factor in the office. Her favorite part about working at Wheelock & associates is the opportunity to improve patients’ lives.
Marilyn is married to her college sweetheart, Douglas. She loves spending time with her five grandchildren. She also enjoys running, swimming, reading, and is an avid “Dancing with the Stars” fan.
Kelli, Front Desk Coordinator
Kelli, a Sioux City native, graduated from East High School in 1995. She graduated from the Western Iowa Tech Dental Assisting Program in 1997. She joined Dr. Wheelock’s practice upon her graduation as both a front desk coordinator and dental assistant, but has since hung up her dental assisting hat.
Kelli married her high school sweetheart, Matt, in May 1999. They live in Morningside with their three boys: Noah, Cale, and Iain. Kelli enjoys spending time with family and friends, photography, reading, and being involved in her sons’ activities.
Lyndsay, Front Desk Coordinator
Lyndsay was born and raised in the Spencer, IA area, where she attended Ruthven-Ayrshire High School. After graduating in 2006 she moved to Sioux City to attend Western Iowa Tech for graphic design. Lyndsay decided to make a career change, and in 2011 she received her Registered Dental Assisting Certificate from the state of Iowa. She joined Wheelock & Associates Dentistry in 2013.
Lyndsay lives in Morningside with her husband, Tim. She enjoys spending her free time traveling, watching movies, and visiting family in the Spencer area.
Sharon, Front Desk Coordinator
Sharon was born in Sioux City and grew up here. She graduated from Heelan High School in 1969. In 1970, she completed the dental assisting program at Western Iowa Tech. Upon graduation, she started working for Dr. Morgan, where she met her husband, Dennis, who was a patient there.
Sharon joined Dr. Wheelock’s team in 1982 as a front desk coordinator. She has twin sons, Dr. Rory McKenna, a chiropractor in Chicago, and Dr. Ryan McKenna, a dentist in Sioux City. Ryan has two sons, Liam and Owen, and a daughter, Maren.
Sharon enjoys spending time with her family and golfing.
Emily, Dental Hygienist
Emily grew up in Moville, IA. She graduated from Woodbury Central High School in 2004. She attended the University of Northern Iowa majoring in Health Promotion before being accepted into the Dental Hygiene program at Hawkeye community College in Waterloo.
After graduating from the Dental Hygiene program Emily then worked in Iowa City before moving back to her hometown in August of 2009. She joined the Wheelock & Associates team in November 2009. Emily also enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, reading, playing with her dogs Baxter and Winston, watching the Iowa Hawkeyes, and the Boston Red Sox.
In the winter you can find her supporting Woodbury Central wrestling while her husband, Jake, coaches the team.
Kevin, Dental Hygienist
Kevin was born in Ogden, Utah, but moved to New Mexico, Kansas, Alabama, Texas, Washington, South Dakota, and finally to Iowa. He graduated from high school in 2001 from McCook Central in Salem, SD. Kevin then attended the University of South Dakota, graduating in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene. After graduation Kevin moved to Sioux City and worked in LeMars and Vermillion. Kevin joined Dr. Wheelock’s team in July 2014.
Kevin married his wife, Jodi, in July 2006 and shortly after moved to Sergeant Bluff. They have five children: Anna, Brody, Cara, David, and Ella. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with his family.
Alisha, Dental Hygienist
Alisha was born in Sioux City and raised on a farm outside of Kingsley. She graduated from Kingsley-Pierson High School in 1997. She pursued her Bachelor of Science degree at the University of South Dakota where she graduated with her dental hygiene degree in 2000 and BS in 2001.
Alisha joined Dr. Wheelock’s team in February 2004. She was married in July 2005 to Matthew and they live on a century farm outside of Westfield. They were blessed with two children, Brody and Morgan. Alisha enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and gardening.
Teri, Dental Hygienist
Teri was born in Sioux City and graduated from East High School. In 1999, she moved to Des Moines, where she attended Des Moines Area Community College. She graduated in 2000 from the Dental Assisting Program and again in 2003 from the Dental Hygiene Program.
Teri worked in Des Moines for several years before returning to Sioux City. She and her husband, John, have a daughter, Isabella; son, Frankie; and a pug, Matilda. Teri enjoys cheering on her children at their activities, playing golf, and spending time with family and friends.
Kim is a lifelong Siouxland resident. She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1985. She then attended the Western Iowa Tech Dental Assisting program and, upon graduation in 1986, began working with Dr. Wheelock.Since getting her certification in 1986, Kim received her Dental Assisting Registration in 2001, became an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant in 2006, and most recently became 1 of 7 dental assistants in the country to be certified in CEREC design. Kim has also served on the WITCC Dental Assisting Advisory Committee since 1990.Kim currently lives in South Sioux City with her companion, Jeff. Together they have two daughters, Kristi and Aleah. In 2008, Kim and Jeff were blessed with their first grandson, Brayden, and in 2012 a second grandson, Mickey, joined the family.In her time away from the office, Kim enjoys spending time with her family and friends and attending any football game played by Nebraska (GO BIG RED), Morningside, or the Bandits. She also loves reading by her pool (weather permitting) and driving around town singing in her 1979 little red Corvette!
Tracey, Dental Assistant
Tracey was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa, and is a 1988 graduate of Bishop Heelan High School. She attended Western Iowa Tech and graduated in 1993 from the Dental Assisting program, receiving her CDA. In 2001, she received her RDA and then went on to receive her EFDA in 2006. Tracy has most recently received her CEREC design certification Levels 1 and 2 in 2009/2010.Tracey began working for Dr. Wheelock in 2005 and loves learning new technology and advancing her dental training with her partner-in-crime, Kim.
Tracey married her husband, Andy, in 2000, and together they raise their son Vinney, born in 2003. She enjoys golfing, fantasy football, scrap booking, camping in Platte, SD, and traveling with friends and family.
Georgina, Dental Assistant
Georgina was born and raised in Sioux City, IA. She is 19 years old. She is the youngest of six and graduated from Bishop Heelan High School in 2016. Georgina attended Western Iowa Tech and graduated in 2017 as a Certified Dental Assistant. Georgina joined Wheelock & Associates Dentistry after graduation. In addition to her dental assisting skills she is able to translate for our Spanish speaking patients. Georgina enjoys spending time with her family and boyfriend, hiking, shooting and horseback riding. Her favorite color is blue and she loves to travel.
